Re: use node frame range

"Render selected..." can render selected Afanasy nodes (not only write nodes).
Each Afanasy node can have own frame range.

I just tried to do it, but it fails to work. The error is printed in script editor. You can fix it yourself.
Also you share fix with others on GitHub.

Re: 1 Salve just completing tasks without rendering.

Check tasks commands in the console.
Most issues are not CGRU-Afanasy related.

Re: Task progress 0% and missing options on right click

A quick way to test task command is to run task command directly. Not within Afanasy. Double-click task to receive its data. Copy command and paste in a console (cmd.exe). Also CGRU has a script for 3dsmax to run tasks directly from an application. In application we can query images files and specif...

Re: Vray Parser update to create thumbnails

Afrender make thumbnails with an ImageMagick convert utility: https://www.imagemagick.org/script/convert.php On Windows it does not understands EXR 'out-of-the-box'. You should find out does your convert.exe understands exr files, and what to do if it does not. You our solve this problem (it is solv...

Re: Task progress 0% and missing options on right click

This means that task/block does not have "files" parameter. It was not set by submission script. To debug tasks that hung, better to launch task command just in the system console. Sometimes windows applications, even command line applications, rise some windows, and waits for the user to close it. ...

Re: Vray Parser update to create thumbnails

It is just work by default and this is all, no special GUI setup needed. Of course there should be thumbnails. So afrender should know about images to generate thumbnails. There are 2 way for it, both can be used together: - Submission script set "files" parameter to a job block. - Python parser cla...

Re: Fisrt job done in 3ds max!

Hi. I am not a max/vray specialist. I can say only about working directory: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Working_directory I is widely used by admin/tds in their custom scripts/wrappers. For example, in our studio, we use working directory to detect software version by our scripts/wrappers. This wa...

Re: Pyton34.dll missing

Hi. CGRU release for Windows has own Python. And does not requite any Python installation. (the same way goes many other soft, like nuke, houdini, blender, natron, maya and most others) Keeper performs environment setup. Or you can setup environment manually: http://cgru.info/installation#config_env...

Re: Tutorial?

I was wondering if it could be possible to run Afanasy on a linux server but to manage a windows render farm? I mean I would put all my file on the linux server and also output my render on it but all my slaves would be on windows.
Of course it is possible. Just run server on Linux and this is all.
