Archive vs. Hide vs. Delete

Post by avclubvids »

Some jobs need to be kept around for various reasons – we might have them paused for a few days until the farm opens up and we can let them render, we might want to see how long tasks took to make sure new versions are not vastly different, or we might want to keep a record of machine issues that are visible on a job.

Currently, for sanity, we delete done jobs often so that the queue is a visual representation of what still needs to be done. I'd love an option to archive and restore selected renders, and to hide renders that still need to run at a later date but are paused now. If this is available somewhere in Watch I couldn't find it, but even if it is, the WebGUI could use this feature the most.

Hi.
To hide/unhide job(s):
- afwatch: RMB menu -> Set Parameter -> Hidden
- WebGUI: Right panel -> Parameters -> Hidden
To show jobs use View Options in AfWatch or simple press H button in a Web GUI.
May be it is not very comfortable, but both GUIs were written too fast, and should be much modified when there will be some time for it.

Thumbs-up for hide/unhide, thank you! An archive would still be useful, but for now I'll be using the heck out of this.
