Mixed Linux and Windows Farm

Post by thomascheng »

Hi,

I was wondering if Afserver can send jobs to both Windows and Linux render nodes. Currently, I have windows afserver sending jobs to windows render nodes, but I like to start adding linux machines to the farm. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I went ahead and installed Ubuntu and CGRU on it. So far the main problem is the drive mapping. On Windows, I have my network drive set to "P:" Ubuntu does not use drive letter and use something completely different to connect to the network drive. So it seems the only way to overcome this is to have cgru replace the the beginning part of the network path depending on which OS environment the render node is using. Is there a way to do this in cgru currently? Thanks.
