Re: Rules path setup

Thank you for your quick reply, I feel really stupid asking about this path mapping constantly. Trying to understand the logic. Where does /data/cgru come from? Is that a folder that is necessary for rules to work? At the moment I'm running afanasy and rules from the same /mnt/cgru/ folder, is that ...

Re: Rules path setup

Spoke to soon I guess... ;) Still got a little issue that I'm struggling with... Currently my setup is: /mnt/cgru/ <- cgru folder on all machines, pushed out by nfs by rules server. /mnt/projects/ <- main project folder, pushed out by one of our servers and mounted on all workstations and the rules ...

Re: keeper software setup

That's cool, I didn't know we could alter the keeper menu, opens up a lot of possibilities. Thanks.

Re: keeper software setup

Thank you Timur, yes I do source your script into our main .bashrc file, was just curious to check out the software setup stuff you have built in as many of the guys here are asking about it. Maybe we could have a option to disable that stuff in the keeper menu? Just at thought...

keeper software setup

Hi, when setting up the software after my new install of CGRU, I get the following message from keeper (when starting it by hand from a command prompt): Traceback (most recent call last): File "/mnt/cgru/utilities/keeper/software.py", line 218, in locateNuke locateSoftware('Nuke') File &qu...

Re: Walk and multiple roots?

I will try to run it by hand,... maybe my path mapping is all screwy again. I seem to always struggle with that! I see, yes it's nice for artists... I guess you are symlinking then? I'm concerned about network bandwidth, and redundancy... we have a 1gb ethernet for the 3d guys and then infiniband fo...

Walk and multiple roots?

Hi, what is the reason Rules want to create a .rules folder above the "root" directive? In the below, my "root" is set to /mnt/projects and this is what the walk log tells me: "updating" :"/mnt", "error_make_dir" :"[Errno 13] Permission denied: ...

Re: Rules path setup

I think trying to get this to work has probably escalated into a lot more issues than it originally was  In any case, at the moment this is what afanasy tells me: {"cmdexec":[{"convert":[],"error":"\\mnt\/cgru\/projects\/J-REV\\SCENES\\SC006\\shot002\\SOURCE\\...

Re: Rules path setup

going slightly insane here... working on setting up clarisse on a blade server, and figured I'd do a clean install of cgru & rules as well, since I'll be introducing it into the general population after Chinese new year. Anyway, tried to do a github straight from my forked repo, gave up as insan...
