Re: Multichannel exr - maya - thumbnails - convert - imagemagick - linux
Oh that's great to know! I searched but couldn't find any mention of adding multichannel support, hence the route I took, but yeah, maybe I might do the compile and see if that works. Thanks for that Timur!

Re: Maya: Keep job scene open between tasks
Thanks for the reply Timur. Yeah I was wondering if this would be the problem area. I was hoping CGRU has some function that would handle it? If not, I will think some more about it.

Multichannel exr - maya - thumbnails - convert - imagemagick - linux
Posting this in case it helps others are using multichannel exrs. I have only tested in our environment which are blades running centos7. We were not getting thumbnails when using multichannel exr's as, it turns out, imagemagick cannot read them. As an alternative, OpenImageIO can at least read the ...

Maya: Keep job scene open between tasks
Background: We use both Afanasy and Deadline in our studio. We all prefer Afanasy. Deadline tries to be too tricky, and from an admin POV, deadline is is far more error prone. At least 1 day every week we have this scenario: Artist: "My deadline shot is getting errors!" ME: "Just subm...

Re: /usr/bin/env: python: No such file or directory
Thanks for the reply Timurhai. If I type python into a terminal, python 2.7.5 loads fine. So not sure why it is doing it. Yeah in Linux. Could this be related - when I try to load setup from a terminal: [snap@snap01 cgru]$ ./setup.sh CGRU_VERSION 2.2.2 : '/opt/cgru' [snap@snap01 cgru]$ ./start.sh CG...

better execution of custom commands on nodes
Hey all! There are 2 ways I can see of sending a command to a node... 1. Renders tab, RMB, "Administrate" - "Launch Command". This is fantastic! No password and very easy, except you have to type or copy in one of the commands each time. 2. Using plink in custom commands in the c...

tail server log
Hey there,
If I kill afserver, then start it manually in a terminal, I can watch the output.
Is there a way to see the output when it is started by service?
Can I tail a log or something similar?
TIA
